By default, the Shannon sampling factor is the conventional 1.5. Use larger values (Edit -> Map Parameters -> Sampling Rate) for smoother maps 1.
This value can be set by the scripting command
(set-map-sampling-rate 2.5)
[1] a value of 2.5 is often sufficient.
